Enigma Management Resources Ltd was formed in 1995. Leslie Woodcock, the founder and owner, formulated a range of strategy based services with the simple aim of helping his customers by 

"Removing the Mystery from Success"   

His vision continues to this day and it has delivered great results for well over 100 businesses and individuals over more than a quarter of a century.

Leslie Woodcock has been a company director for more than 30 years. 


He has held a variety of  positions in internationally based, marketing led

businesses, mostly with brands of world renown. He has occupied the post

of managing director of substantial businesses for 10 of those 30 years.

Since 1995 Leslie Woodcock has been director and principal advisor in

Enigma, his own strategic business performance improvement practice.

Before that ….

He worked for 10 years, until the age of 27, in finance and accounting posts,
culminating with 3 years in a group role at the head office of the public company,
Crest Nicholson plc.


He began his career in general management on joining the Heron Group in 1979. He was employed in a number of high profile and important businesses; effectively in trouble shooting or change-orientat­ed roles, managing sales and profit growth or strategic redirection.

In 1987 he became managing director of  Suzuki GB Cars, Heron's vehicle

import and distribution business. He achieved significant sales and profit

growth by exploiting the niche market appeal of the Suzuki product range and

by the development and management of brand values and corporate identity

to create differentiation and to add value.

He has demonstrated his commitment to business success through customer

focus, when, as managing director of Daewoo Cars Ltd, he was responsible

for the company's launch in 1994. The marque achieved national prominence

and record-breaking growth through its high impact consumer orientated

marketing campaigns and radical direct sales approach, which he conceived,

developed and launched, eschewing the traditional car distribution system.

Many of the radical initiatives introduced at Daewoo are present in the customer
service offerings of many of the major car manufacturers.

His broad skills and experience are suited to a wide range of business sectors and operations and include:


  • Well developed presentation skills and powers of persuasion in board room and conference environments.

  • Strategic review of mature business sectors, the challenging of conventional wisdom and the use of innovative solutions to gain commercial advantage.

  • The achievement of significant sales and profit results by the analysis and superior fulfilment of customer service needs, pre, during and post sale.

  • Management of sales and distribution channels including third party distribution networks and nation-wide branch operations.

  • Experience of operating with overseas nationals in the International arena since 1979 - Japan, Korea, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, USA and therefore sensitive to cultural differences in both business and social relationships.

As demonstrated by his varied career, Leslie Woodcock is capable of the rapid assimilation of the complexities of new markets and business sectors and of effectively transferring his acquired skills to the analysis of problems, determining solutions and managing their imple­mentation.
